Fall 2016 Project: School Supplies Orphan Grain Train
This fall, our project was combined with the 20th Anniversary Benefit Concert with Uncle Gerry and involved collecting school supplies for Orphan Grain Train, Maryland Branch. In lieu of ticket sales for the concert, families made a donation to the organization and Music Together Chesapeake donated proceeds of a raffle for a free semester of classes.
In September 2010 we began our first Intergenerational Parent/Child Music Together® class at Atria Manresa in Annapolis. What a joy it has been sharing music every week with the residents who attend our classes along with the children and their families.
Music Together Chesapeake regularly donates to many child-centered organizations, as well as preschools, auctions and fund-raisers.
Reaching Out Projects
In the spring of 2010 we initiated Reaching Out projects, which provide us the opportunity to work alongside our families in helping others. Projects have included:
Uncle Gerry and Friends Benefit Concert: October 2014
Uncle Gerry came to our area to perform a benefit concert at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church in Crofton. It was a wonderful benefit concert supporting Zamni Swen (Caring Friends), a clinic in Haiti that provides therapy services to children with special needs.
